Happy Scorpio Season! Ah, one of my faves. We are being beckoned into the dark — a place of inherent connection to our ancestors, a time of more and deeper sleep, a traverse into the realm of the unconscious, and an invitation to understand death as a magical threshold. We also find gifts of alchemy and transformation within this potent season, reminded of the story of Neelakantha Shiva and his ability to transform the most poisonous of substances into what is nourishing and life-giving. This power lives within ourselves, yet we must learn to claim and use it, lest we live in a fear so gripping we can’t see through its deception.

Scorpio is here to make all that is unconscious conscious, accessing deeper portals of the self that are stored within the body and psyche. Whatever traumas we have experienced that have not been integrated will keep asserting themselves onto our present reality until we truly choose to go into the depths of scorpionic territory to claim our inherent power. Not power over or under, but power within. This includes karmic and ancestral wounds that must be fully seen by the light of our awareness, held with love and compassion, and integrated into our beingness, allowing for a full reclamation of the soul in its many experiences and expressions.

With the eclipse cycle on the Taurus-Scorpio axis beginning November 19 and lasting until October 28, 2023, we will indeed be spending some time mining the depths of our consciousness for places that need to be fully transformed for ourselves, our ancestors, our land, and our collective. Time for some inner alchemy, and to gather all the tools to ourselves! We will be needing them, and we will likely develop a few more along the way.

When I came into this life, carrying the ancestral trauma of suicide, I had no idea what I was asking of myself. Bearing this weight was not easy, as it plagued my inner being to my core, even though I knew deep down its story wasn’t true. Yet finding the right helpers, honing my quiver of resources, and being willing to go to the darkest of places in myself and lineage has been a true gift. I am thankful for the shadow journeys I’ve been given the opportunity to make, and for all of the amazing assistance I’ve had along the way. This work has truly been the work of many lifetimes, and I am humbled by the process. May you also find solace in reconnecting with your own true power, the beautiful Shakti that animates you, and hone your tools of transformation in this potent portal!!
