Remembering What we Know:: Pisces Full Moon Glow

Today marks the Full Moon in Pisces, with the planet Neptune almost two-thirds of the way through the sign of the mystic as well. Neptune, the modern ruling planet for Pisces, has been in the sign in which it feels most comfortable since 2012 and will be there through much of 2025. Both the planet Neptune and the sign of Pisces have much in common, as their "rulership" affinity with one another shows, and their energy is one that dissolves boundaries to allow for a unified approach to life. Pisces can't help but feel most everything, and in a transpersonal way, meaning she senses most everyone else's emotional experience whether she wants to or not! So if this Full Moon is bringing up waves of compassion, grief, or a longing for wholeness within humanity, you're definitely tuning into the Piscean wavelength in a real way. As the sign of the mystic and the dreamer, Pisces naturally moves through the world in a way that honors the human experience and recognizes that we're all in this together, sometimes despairing when others don't understand this reality. For what we do to the earth, the air, the environment, the beings that inhabit the earth, and to one another, we do to ourselves, and Pisces knows this at her core. Essentially, Piscean energy understands (or is here to understand) that there really is no separateness between me and you, us and them, here or there; it is all fundamentally created and continues to exist by the inherent intelligence that lives within everything.

And yet we've been living as though we were separate from each other, from the earth that feeds us, and the air that supports us, for a long time. In humanity's movement toward a hyper-rationalism that has dominated the Western world for centuries, we have cut ourselves off from the life that feeds us, forgetting who we are and our place within the whole in the process. Pisces seeks to remember that which has always been complete, that which we've collectively forgotten. Pisces seeks to deeply know that we are truly all connected, and the only sense of separation is created and upheld within the narrow context of the mind. Spiritual traditions have, for thousands of years, sought to remind practitioners of this inherent Oneness, this unified experience. Countless teachings have been handed down orally, eventually written into texts that point to this deeper and fundamental truth:: you can never be separate from Life, for it is Life that supports you from beginning to end. And this is true for all beings alive on the planet, from tiny plants to giant animals and everything in between. It sounds so simple because it is. But something within the human psyche has chosen to live in ignorance of this truth, perhaps only so we can discover and remember again.

We are being given a grand opportunity to sense and deeply know our Oneness; to live from a place of compassion for others, from humans to the earth herself; to rediscover our true nature that is never lacking, is always available, and that always knows the way, even when our minds seem lost. We are being invited to moments of reverie that remind us of what our hearts have always known, moments of grace that nourish our souls in ways that only real spiritual understanding can. We are being asked to dream into existence a world that actually puts plants, animals, and people before profit, that holds all life as sacred, that sees every moment as a window to the infinite. And this might all seem completely impossible to many, but what would be the point if we couldn't attempt that which seems impossible to our minds? For Neptune and Pisces have never been bound by the smallness of the mind; their energies reach far beyond limitations that would keep us playing out mistakes long outgrown, and instead move us into expansive and deeply connected realities that sing, dance, and honor Life and its grace-imbued energies as the starting point. Neptune knows that infinite possibilities reside in the ocean of Consciousness, and though we are all one, each one of us has a choice as to how we orient ourselves in each moment. Do we choose compassion or hatred; love or fear; benevolence or bigotry? Perhaps to you the choice seems like an easy one, but Pisces seeks to live this choice in each and every moment, knowing that the stakes are now high, and things only get more harrowing the further we move from our individual and collective truth.

May you delight in the beautiful glow of this Full Moon, the moon of the mystic, and may its potency touch your soul in ways that stay with you long after the sky has changed. May we come together with one another, with the earth and her inhabitants of all kinds in this time of change, remembering and holding dear what is sacred so that we remember what it feels like to come home to ourselves, each other, the earth, and truly Life that supports it all.
